Mum and Dad visiting, cont.

Weather: Sunshine
Temperature: 35 C
Humidity: 39%

Everywhere you go in Dubai there is some kind of graphical model or sales stands for all the building prospects in the citty. There are still several appartments available in the first Dubai palm project, and the prices are not at all to bad. We vere offered a 150 m2 top floor appartment in the trunk of the Palm island for the price of 1,8 mill Dhirams - about 3,5 mill norwegian kroner. So the prices are actually lower than in Norway - and my parents were clearly temptet. However I think we will still stick to out summerhouse in Norway :)

Before dinner we went to the roof top bar at the Emirates Tower to admire the view of Dubai. The tower is about 350 meters tall and gives you a good perspective of the different areas in the citty. From here you can see the Dubai Drydocks, the Dubai Creek, the Sheik Zayed Road, Burj-Al-Arab, The Jumeirah Beac Resort, Souk Madinat and several of the golf courses. The windows were a bit dirty though, so the picture did not turn out that good..

We had spotted out a seafood place on the Sheik Sayed Road, where you can pick your own seafood from the aquarium and the fish dishes. The assortment of lobsters was amazing, and we ended up with a respectable specimen weighing 2,1 kilos.

We were given a shopping cart and some plastic bags, and the waitress nicely wrapped up the food we pointed out from the food counter.

Waiting for the food - gret expectations...

Finally our lobster arrived, accompanied with some delicious shrimps, fried fish with chilli and garlic, seafood-noodels and a well prepared salad. Bon apetit!

Here we have the entire family; the sheik himself and his two sons. A lot of the cars have "decorated" their rear window with the sheik-family. These are the ones responsible for the "amusement-park" that Dubai is developing into.
